
Progress monitoring is a way teachers track how well students are learning and responding to instruction. It is a key part of Response to Intervention (RTI) and helps teachers: · Determine if students are making adequate progress
· Identify students who may need additional support
· Adjust instructions based on data

· Teachers collect data regularly using short quizzes, curriculum-based measures, observations, or digital tools
· Data is analyzed to see if students are meeting goals
· Instruction is adjusted as needed to support student growth
o EBP: Reciprocal Teaching
Description: Students learn to summarize, ask questions, clarify confusing parts, and make predictions while reading.
o EBP: Systematic Phonics Instruction
o Description: Direct and organized teaching of letter–sound relationships to help students decode words.
o EBP: Explicit Instruction with Guided Practice
o Description: Teachers demonstrate computation skills step-by-step, then guide students through practice with immediate feedback.
o EBP: Schema Based Instruction
o Description: Students are taught to identify the “type” (schema) of word problem (e.g., change, combine, compare) and apply consistent strategies to solve it.
o EBP: Self Regulated Strategy Development (SRSD)
o Description: Structured approach where students plan, draft, revise, and edit their writing while setting goals and monitoring their own progress.
